After along day on the bus (yesterday), I'm finally home. Today we exchanged gifts with my older brother and his girlfriend, we all went out to eat (Mom, Dad, Phil, Stef, and Harry). Went to my grandparents. Mom and I went to the grocery store. Came home and decorated cookies and I took these photos.

Semester is over

So after a long, busy, stressful semester, it is finally over. It was a great one, what a challenge and I had fun even the stress was worth my final projects. I am really glad I ended with Studio 1. That class has been so fun, I learned a lot, and my instructor has been the best. She is by far the best teacher I've had here at Columbia (Here are pictures of my setup for the final critique....6 hrs long).

Hello

It's been awhile since I posted last. I've been so busy with my last weeks of the semester. I have 2 more classes left, then off for a month for winter break.

Just thought I'd share my amazing experience.....
SHE IS SO AMAZING!!!! Sounds exactly the same live as she does on her CD but her voice is 10 times as powerful…… I HAD GOOSEBUMPS the whole time.

PHEW

So after a long hard battle of trying to please my teacher, trying to get my concept through, fighting stress, and the cats, I FINALLY got a hold of my studio final. Such a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders and it feels amazing.

Tonight I went to my friend's to photograph the cats, and let me say it was so hard, and stressful. The cats were fighting me every step of the way. I went through the whole shoot thinking my pictures were terrible. So the whole train ride back to my place i was freaking out.
I got to my room and put the pictures on my computer, messed around with the arrangement of them, edited them and fell in love with them.

For my Digital Imaging final I am taking pictures of the houses/apartments in Chicago and comparing them to Omaha's (These are the Chicago ones).

Hello December

I can't believe it's December already. Where has this year gone? Sophomore year is going by so fast and I don't want it to. I don't want college to go so fast, it's supposed to be the best time of my life. Believe me it is, but OMG why does it have to fly by so fast. I don't want to start paying bills and all the s*** that goes on with living on your own and out of college.

Every year my school has a new critical encounters theme, this year it's Rights, Radicals, and Revolutions. So for my digital class we had to take a triptych showing one of those.

Everyone's views are different, even though we live in the same place, and may do the same things.

I hate being a broke college student, and being a photo major doesn't help one bit, never mind the fact that I live in Chicago and go to a private school.

I ran out of paper today and now I have to go spend another 50+ dollars on more paper. Then I need to buy matte board for both of my photo finals (Digital Imaging and Studio 1).

Hello there!

 I am a sophomore at Columbia College Chicago. I'm a photo major, and I know I'm a little late with having a blog about my photography but I have just been too busy, and also wasn't sure if I should make a blog for it (since I have a flickr, tumblr, facebook, a website, and soon to be another website with my own domain name).
So yeah this is my blog about my photography.

I will be posting my photos that I take for class, and just for fun. Some may be actual thought out photos, and some will be silly snap shots. Most of the photos I post will be my new work, but I will randomly post old work. I will be sharing my ideas, asking for help, and sharing my inspirations.

Everything I post will be my work unless stated otherwise.
